Say Hello to Study Buddy!

Wouldn’t it be awesome if there were pro-level study notes for your OREA course… in addition to all the awesome Passit features you already love? Well, now there is!

Study Buddy is a new study notes tool that drills down to the most mission critical exam topics in an easy-to-use online format. It’s perfect as a sidekick for your OREA course or a great last minute reminder of crucial details. It’s available today in Passit’s Guide for Real Estate as a Professional Career, Land, Structures and Real Estate Trading and The Real Estate Transaction—General. Here’s what one of our beta testers had to say:

“The new chapter wraps in Study Buddy helped me immensely. The math tips and tricks were exactly what I needed!ˮ

This new feature was heavily influenced by customer feedback so we’re really excited to get this in the hands of our users!

When are you expecting Study Buddy to be launched for Land, Structures and Real Estate Trading and The Real Estate Transaction—General?

Will you be eventually launching it for the other 2 courses as well?

  2. Natalia

What is most important to study as I work full time and would really like to pass

Thanks for all your help and comments

    • Passit Admin

Hi Denise! Congrats on getting started with Course 1. The entire course is fair game for the exam, but you’ll really want to make sure you don’t skim over Chapters 2, 7, 8 or 9! We’re attaching the Passit Power Plan for this course below, which includes a study plan, some critical pointers about the course material, as well as some tips and tricks to keep you on track: https://app.passit.ca/docs/passit-power-plan-repc.pdf

  5. Ruth

Since you do not offer the 3rd course as of yet, I am considering MiniCram. Can you recommend or not? Thanks!

    • Passit Admin

Hi Ruth! We offer study guides for ALL of OREA’s pre-registration courses, and as far as we know, Passit is the most comprehensive study guide available. We don’t know what is included in MiniCram’s offering but we can share some important things that make Passit unique, and hopefully that’s helpful for you.

      • Our guides are custom developed and fully interactive, which means you can be strategic about how you study, your progress is tracked and the app adapts to provide you the best question sets.
      • Our question database is exclusive, comprehensive, accurate, up-to-date and professionally developed (we’ve worked with OREA for over 10 years to ensure Passit is top-notch).
      • Each question includes detailed answer feedback for each answer option as well as topic tips, solution details and helpful explainer videos where appropriate.
      • We’re the only online study guide to ever be endorsed by OREA, and the only online study guide to include officially retired OREA exams.

We know that’s likely more info than you were expecting! But we hope it’s helpful for you (and others) in completing study guide comparisons. Also, take a second to read some student reviews, they include some student’s strategies about how they’ve used Passit to pass their OREA exams.

You can check out all of the features for our guide for The Real Estate Transaction—General here (including sample snapshots). The new “Study Buddy” is an add-on feature that provides a section devoted specifically to course summary notes. If that’s the only part that you’re interested in, this will be available soon for the third OREA course.

  6. Michelle

Will there be a study guide for the Investing course of articling? If not, why not?

    • Passit Admin

Hi Michelle! We don’t currently have a plan to develop a study guide for OREA’s “Real Estate Investment Analysis” (our development schedule is based on ensuring we develop and maintain top-notch study guide tools for our existing guides and developing new guides prioritized based on user requests). The next study guide to be released will be for “The Real Estate Broker Course”. Details for this guide aren’t available yet, but you can sign up for updates here: https://confirmsubscription.com/h/i/F381B3B72C1BEDBD

      • Agnese

Any updates on Real Estate Investment Analysis?

        • Passit Admin

Hi Agnese, We don’t have an update on Real Estate Investment Analysis — we are currently finishing the Passit Guide for the Real Estate Broker Course and then will set the next guide/feature from there!

  7. How long is this valid for

    • Passit Admin

Hi Nino! Each guide has an access time that corresponds with OREA’s recommended course completion times. The guides for Land, Structures and Real Estate Trading, The Real Estate Transaction—General, and The Residential Real Estate Transaction include 9 weeks of unlimited use. The remainder of the guides include 5 weeks of unlimited use. Guides that expire can be reactivated with the purchase of a new order number, and extension/renewal purchase options are available for each guide if you need some additional time.

  8. Geeta Mistry

study buddy notes available for appraisal exam?

    • Passit Admin

Hi Geeta! We don’t offer Study Buddy notes for Principles of Appraisal. Study Buddy is included in Passit for Real Estate as a Professional Career and Land, Structures and Real Estate Trading, and coming soon to The Real Estate Transaction—General.

  9. Emily

Hi There, I noticed there is no “Exam Simulator” for Course 3 (Real Estate Transactions). Will this be made available for this class?

    • Passit Admin

Hi Emily! The Exam Simulator feature is one retired exam that OREA has provided. As this is a combined exam covering both course textbooks (General and Residential) there is only one retired OREA exam, and it is included in the guide for The Residential Real Estate Transaction. We strongly recommend using the Test Mode in the MCQ 500 of both guides as it offers a similar exam-style experience with a much larger variety of questions. We sometimes find students solely rely on the retired OREA exam expecting the real exam to be the same. You’ll have much better success on the exam by taking the Exam Simulator once (or twice) to test your knowledge but ensure you use the MCQ 500 in both guides to be well prepared. This helps ensure you’re actually learning the material, not just remembering the old exam questions.

This exam is a challenging one – we think you may find this article helpful!

  10. yang

    Dear passit team
Thank you so much for providing the study buddy. I just passed the exam of Land, Structures and Real Estate Trading, and I have found this study buddy was really really helpful, especially for people are working and studying at the same time like me. This study buddy notes have saved me tones of time for reviewing the key points of each chapter before the exam. and I am just wondering when the study buddy available for “The Real estate Transaction-General” and “The Residential Real Estate Transaction” thank you so much

    • Passit Admin

Hi Yang, we’re so glad that you love the new Study Buddy feature! Congrats on passing the exam for Land, Structures and Real Estate Trading, that’s a great one to have behind you! The Study Buddy notes for The Real Estate Transaction—General are currently in their final phase of prep for release. We don’t set a date as this last step can take some extra time (accurate, comprehensive, valuable content is our top priority!), but we expect it to be available very soon. We haven’t established a development timeline for a Study Buddy for The Residential Real Estate Transaction yet.

  11. C.

    Love this feature!
Is The Residential Real Estate Transaction under development now too?
Also, I will be starting course 3 soon, so was wondering when the General course notes will be available?

    Thanks!

    • Passit Admin

We’re glad you like the new Study Buddy feature! We are not yet in development for the Study Buddy for The Residential Real Estate Transaction, but expect it for The Real Estate Transaction—General very soon! It will be auto-added to all active guides as soon as its ready.

  12. Ilyas Boghos

If I buy course 3 (a & b) and it is only 9 weeks and if i fail do i need to buy it again. Thanks

    • Passit Admin

Hi Ilyas, each of these guides includes 9 weeks of access time, which is usually enough for most people (even in the event of a re-write). Once activated, each guide has extension options available if you’d like to have more time – you’ll find these under the Extend Expiry tab on your Passit Dashboard. Extension options are $1 per day (7 day minimum, perfect for an extra week at low cost) or $29.99 for an additional nine weeks.

  13. Shane

Hi, when are The Study Buddy notes for The Real Estate Transaction—General expected?

  14. Ryan Brendan Domian

thank you very much for adding the study buddy, it makes such a difference using it. I received a 92% on the first one, and a 94% on the second all with the study buddy feature. you have no idea how grateful I am to see study buddy added to course, 3 general. thank you for making this journey just a little bit easier. you are the best!

    • Passit Admin

Those are awesome results, congratulations! We’re glad you’ve enjoyed using the new Study Buddy feature – for Course 3 General it is especially comprehensive as we have found there’s several areas that students need some extra info and clarification. Let us know what you think!

  15. Lisa

I was waiting for this feature as it really saves time and helps a lot. When it said soon, I didn’t realize it would be a 2 month long wait…. The General notes literally came out the day I finished all my notes… I wish they came out 2 months ago… I would have felt more prepared!
I hope more notes come out soon! They can be very helpful if you have them.

    • Passit Admin

Good Morning Lisa! This feature took some extra time as we wanted it to be comprehensive, and include as many helpful explanations as possible – it’s a complex course so we added extra clarification and guidance for topics like conditions, holdover provisions, deposits and irrevocability. We’re glad you’ve found Passit helpful and wish you all the best on your exam!

  16. Rhonda

Hi there, I have used Passit for course 1,2,3a&b, and I love it. Do you know if you will be posting study buddy notes for Property Law soon.
    Thank you

    • Passit Admin

Good morning Rhonda! Right now our content development team is hard at work on Passit for the Real Estate Broker Course, to be released later this summer, so there won’t be Study Buddy notes for Real Property Law coming soon.

  17. Have you got a date yet on the Real Estate Broker Course Passit?

  18. yang

since a lot of people are working hard on the real estate exams, and almost 100% good comments on the study buddy notes. I wish Passit team can provide the study buddy notes for all exams soon, thanks a lot

  19. aly

    Hello,

I have found your study buddy notes to be very helpful. Do you have a timeline when you will publish your The Residential Real Estate Transaction studdy buddy notes?

    • Passit Admin

Hi Aly, we’re glad you’ve found the new Study Buddy notes helpful! Our team is currently hard at work on the new Passit Guide for the Real Estate Broker Course so we haven’t yet set a time for the Study Buddy notes for The Residential Real Estate Transaction. In general, the content in the Residential course is more straightforward than the General component, and you’ll find the MCQ 500 invaluable for preparing you with challenging questions and fully detailed feedback for each answer option. Don’t forget to review the videos in each guide as they focus on areas that are tricky on the exam.

      • DL

Is there an updated timeline for The Residential Real Estate Transaction Study Buddy feature? How would you advise to cover a whole textbook (3B) of content in a short time without some condensed notes to go with it? The study buddy feature is definitely amazing and required.

        • Passit Admin

Hi DL, we’re glad you’ve enjoyed using the new Study Buddy feature so far! It is definitely one of our most popular new additions to Passit. We haven’t yet set an availability timeframe for Study Buddy for OREA’s Residential Real Estate Transactions. This Passit Guide has been available for almost 10 years with fantastic reviews and feedback about it’s helpfulness for the exam. If you’re short on time or your exam is imminent here’s our top recommendations:

          • Tackle your studying chapter by chapter
          • Set aside 45 minutes for a study session
          • Re-Read all Notables at the end of each Chapter in your course
          • Warm yourself up with a Lingo Looper for that Chapter
          • Use the MCQ 500 in Study Mode and choose Chapter Specific. Tackle 10-15 questions.
          • Review/Re-read any topics you’re unsure of from the Passit Topic Review List
          • Repeat Study Mode for this chapter until you’re consistently achieving 80-85%+, then take a break and repeat for the next chapter!

Hope that’s helpful for you – you’ll find this covered in detail on the Passit Power Plan for this exam.

  20. Chitra

Hi there will you be having the real estate investment analysis course?

    • Passit Admin

Hi Chitra, we don’t currently offer a Passit Guide for OREA’s Real Estate Investment Analysis (this isn’t a guide we’ve offered previously and have not yet developed, so it won’t be available in the near future). We haven’t yet scheduled development for the next OREA course (the last to be announced was the Broker Course in September 2019), the next guide to become available will be for Humber Course 3: Additional Residential Real Estate Transactions.
