Having problems finding the right answer? Here’s a mind shift: Don’t! Eliminate the wrong ones instead. It’s a subtle change in perspective but can be effective when analyzing multiple choice questions. Not only do you arrive at the correct answer by the process of elimination, but you also know why the other three are incorrect. Here’s what your brain in elimination mode is saying: If (a), (b) and (d) are clearly wrong, then it must be (c).<\/em> At exam time, make a simple reminder note beside the ‘x’ for each incorrect answer option on the examination booklet. Those notes are really handy when you’re checking your answers at exam’s end.
