All students completing the program today must complete the process in the order as indicated in the <a href=\"https:\/\/humber.ca\/realestate\/become-a-salesperson\/learning-path.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Humber learning path<\/a>. <\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Yesterday,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/humber.ca\/realestate\/becoming-a-salesperson\/reco-announcement.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">RECO made an unexpected announcement<\/a>&nbsp;to delay Simulation Session 2, which is the in-person 40-hour class that follows Humber Course 4:&nbsp;<em>Commercial Real Estate Transactions<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is unknown when Simulation 2 will be available. In the meantime you will be able to continue the learning path and apply for conditional registration with RECO. Essentially, you will bypass Simulation 2 and complete it once it&#8217;s ready.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s how that impacts your progress (until Simulation 2 is launched):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Upon passing the Course 4 exam you will proceed to Course 5.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After completion of Course 5 you will be eligible to apply for&nbsp;<em>conditional<\/em>&nbsp;registration with RECO. This will permit you to trade, but only in&nbsp;<em>residential<\/em>&nbsp;real estate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Those with conditional registrations will have two years to complete Simulation 2, and must complete this component prior to starting <a href=\"https:\/\/humber.ca\/realestate\/becoming-a-salesperson\/program-details\/real-estate-salesperson-post-registration-phase.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the post-registration phase<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once Simulation 2 is ready, the learning path reverts to its prior form, where Simulation 2 will be a mandatory course in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/humber.ca\/realestate\/becoming-a-salesperson\/program-details\/real-estate-salesperson-pre-registration-phase1.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the pre-registration phase<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This announcement shortens the time to become registered, which means many learners should prioritize planning for when Course 5 is complete. Remember, to obtain registration with RECO:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You need a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reco.on.ca\/agents-and-brokerages\/criminal-record-and-judicial-matters-check\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">criminal record check<\/a>, dated within six months of your application. This process could take several weeks, depending on your area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must be employed (either as an independent contractor or an employee) with a brokerage. If you haven&#8217;t selected a brokerage, now is a perfect time to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/passit.ca\/scout\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">start researching, interviewing and connecting with other salespeople and brokers in your area<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reco.on.ca\/agents-and-brokerages\/becoming-a-real-estate-agent\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">complete the application<\/a>\u00a0and submit to RECO with the fee (currently $590).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"excerpt\">This post was from 2020.
