As of July 1, 2025, Real Estate Salesperson and Real Estate Broker programs based on&nbsp;<strong>TRESA (Trust in Real Estate Services Act)<\/strong>&nbsp;are officially available through three of the four RECO-approved education providers (Humber Polytechnic will not offer the new program until October 1, 2025). Whether you&#8217;re brand new to the process or currently working through the program at Humber, here\u2019s what you need to know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Steps For New Students: The Process Has Changed<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re just getting started on your journey to become a registered real estate salesperson in Ontario:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Research the available providers:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/humber.ca\/realestateeducation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Humber Polytechnic<\/a> (available for start dates on or after Oct 1, 2025)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/realestate.algonquincollege.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Algonquin College<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/flemingcollege.ca\/realestate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fleming College<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ontariorealestatecollege.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Career College Group<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Create a RECO Account and obtain your RECO ID<\/strong>&nbsp;on&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/myweb.reco.on.ca\/members\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RECO&#8217;s MyWeb Portal<\/a><\/strong>. As part of this process you will select your <strong>education provider<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will then be directed to that provider&#8217;s website to create an account and apply for the program. Each provider has a non-refundable application fee ($75-125) and will require proof of a Canadian secondary school diploma, GED certificate or an acceptable equivalent credential.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>All exams<\/strong>&nbsp;will now be booked (through your course provider&#8217;s learning portal) directly with&nbsp;<strong>Meazure Learning<\/strong>, regardless of which provider you choose.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tip:<\/strong> The course content, registration process, delivery platforms and exam proctoring integrations are all <strong><em>new<\/em><\/strong>, so expect some possible startup wrinkles as providers iron out early issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For Current Humber Polytechnic Students: Stay the Course (If You Can)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Already enrolled at Humber? You&nbsp;<strong>can<\/strong>&nbsp;transfer to a new provider, but it\u2019s not a simple swap. Here\u2019s why:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The new program reflects updated legislation (TRESA), while Humber\u2019s current courses are still based on REBBA. Switching programs mid-way could mean&nbsp;<strong>gaps in knowledge<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>added study time<\/strong>&nbsp;to get up-to-speed. All exams for courses offered by the new providers are based on TRESA, not REBBA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you do transfer, you&#8217;ll need to:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Get a RECO ID<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide your&nbsp;<strong>Humber ID<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>a record of your completed courses\/exams<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete an application process that includes a non-refundable application fee ($75-125).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There may be scheduling delays for course access, simulation sessions and exam bookings as the programs have only recently started accepting applicants. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tip:<\/strong>&nbsp;If you&#8217;re already in the Humber program, now is the time to pick up the pace. Aim to complete as many exams as possible&nbsp;<strong>before September 30<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>&nbsp;to avoid transfer hassles and ensure a smoother path to registering with RECO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Not Sure Which Provider to Choose?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Each provider is offering the&nbsp;<strong>same core program<\/strong>, but they may include different features, supports or add-on options.
