Starting August 1, 2025, all real estate exams (Algonquin College, Fleming College and Career College Group) will be administered by Meazure Learning, replacing the much-criticized Proctortrack system. For Humber learners, this transition will happen on October 1, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s what you need to know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why This Matters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>RECO is making it clear: exam integrity isn\u2019t optional. With multiple <a href=\"https:\/\/reco.on.ca\/news\/reco-sector-advisory\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">documented cases of cheating<\/a>, rampant <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/ca\/app\/proctortrack\/id1463615798?see-all=reviews\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Proctortrack technical issues<\/a> (incompatible software, mid-exam interruptions, bugs\/system crashes) and public criticism\u2014including a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.auditor.on.ca\/en\/content\/annualreports\/arreports\/en22\/AR_RECO_en22.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2022 Auditor General report<\/a>\u2014this overhaul is long overdue. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meazurelearning.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Meazure Learning<\/a>, the provider of the well-known online exam proctoring system <a href=\"https:\/\/www.proctoru.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ProctorU<\/a>, will soon handle every real estate licensing exam in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who Does This Affect\u2014and When?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Real estate learners at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/realestate.algonquincollege.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Algonquin College<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/flemingcollege.ca\/realestate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fleming College<\/a> <\/strong>and<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/careercollegegroup.com\/realestate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Career College Group<\/a><\/strong>: You\u2019ll be writing your exams through Meazure Learning starting&nbsp;<strong>August 1, 2025<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Real estate learners at<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/humber.ca\/realestateeducation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Humber Polytechnic<\/a><\/strong>: You\u2019ll transition to Meazure Learning on&nbsp;<strong>October 1, 2025<\/strong>. Until then, Humber continues to deliver exams through Proctortrack.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you began your program at Humber before July 1, 2025, you\u2019ll finish out your exams under their current system until September 30, 2025. Everyone else: it&#8217;s Meazure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In-Person vs Remote: Choose Your Modality<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>RECO is offering flexibility with two formats, each with detailed (and strict) requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In-Person Exams<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Offered at Meazure\u2019s 65+ test centres across Ontario.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bring valid government-issued photo ID (original, not a copy) that matches the name on the exam confirmation email. Acceptable IDs are driver\u2019s licence, passport, military ID card or provincial\/territorial ID card. Those without acceptable ID will be considered a &#8216;no show&#8217;. Any name-change documentation must be submitted to your education provider <em>one week in advance<\/em> (not on the day of the exam).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Arrive 15 minutes early. Those arriving 30+ minutes late may be denied entry to the exam room.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No electronic devices (phones, ear buds, headphones, tablets, smart glasses, etc.), food, drinks, jackets, bags, purses, watches, calculators, writing utensils, hoodies or unauthorized materials (it&#8217;s a long list, <a href=\"https:\/\/reco.on.ca\/getmedia\/fa54c52a-faea-44ac-a428-8bab01991667\/RECO-Learner-Exam-Handbook.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">make sure you review it<\/a>). Certain items <em>may <\/em>be approved if you request accommodation through your education provider <em><strong>in advance<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Everything is subject to inspection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Remote Exams (Online Proctored)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All of the in-person requirements apply <strong>PLUS<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You MUST use Meazure\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.meazurelearning.com\/exam-technology\/proctoru-online-proctoring\/guardian-browser\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Guardian Browser<\/a> + ProctorU system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You\u2019ll need a second camera (usually your phone), a stable internet connection and a private, distraction-free room.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Those not connecting with a proctor within 15 minutes of their scheduled exam time are considered a &#8216;no show&#8217;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You cannot complete the exam from your bed, car, anywhere outside or public spaces (e.g., a coffee shop or shared workspace).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No talking. No being out of camera view. No looking off-screen. No virtual machines. No second screens. No screenshots. No one else in the room.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In short: treat it like a high-stakes professional credentialing exam\u2014because that\u2019s exactly what it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important: There Are New Exam Rules. Learn Them.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether you\u2019re writing online or in person, expect:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Thorough ID checks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strict timekeeping (miss your slot, and it&#8217;s a \u201cno-show\u201d)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continual monitoring of you and your screen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Zero tolerance for suspicious behaviour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reco.on.ca\/learners\/examinations\/code-of-conduct-for-exams\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Code of Conduct<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reco.on.ca\/learners\/examinations\/exam-misconduct-policy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Misconduct Policy<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;that includes everything from sanctions, whistleblowing and misconduct investigations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Penalties for violations range from invalidated results to permanent program suspension or even revocation of RECO registration. <em>Remember: <\/em>RECO can\u2014and has\u2014<em><strong>retroactively<\/strong><\/em> revoked registration years after misconduct occurred. That means you could lose your real estate license long after you&#8217;ve earned it and invested thousands of dollars into building your career. The risk isn\u2019t worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Goodbye Proctortrack, Hello Stability &amp; Credibility?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019ve written with Proctortrack before, you know the chaos: system crashes, unexplained technical issues and and the infamous 2020 security breach. Meazure Learning promises a more consistent, standardized experience\u2014but it&#8217;s not without new hoops to jump through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, this might fix the tech. But it also means:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Less room for error<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Less tolerance for improvisation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Higher expectations on your part<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s not a bad thing\u2014it\u2019s just different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Should You Do Right Now?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Review and bookmark<\/strong>&nbsp;the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reco.on.ca\/getmedia\/fa54c52a-faea-44ac-a428-8bab01991667\/RECO-Learner-Exam-Handbook.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RECO Exam Handbook<\/a>&nbsp;(seriously, read it).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Test your setup<\/strong>&nbsp;if you plan to write remotely.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Talk to your education provider<\/strong>&nbsp;if you need accommodations, <em><strong>in advance<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Don&#8217;t delay<\/strong>\u2014start planning for this new system now, especially if your planned exam date is soon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final Thoughts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With the introduction of Meazure Learning, RECO is raising the bar on exam security, consistency and accountability. Whether you welcome these changes or approach them with caution, one thing is clear: RECO is paying attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For most learners who already take the process seriously, these changes won\u2019t be disruptive\u2014just be sure your exam setup meets the updated expectations. If you&#8217;re still figuring out how to prepare, know this: the key to success under RECO\u2019s new exam framework is <strong><em>understanding<\/em> the material<\/strong>\u2014not memorizing it.
