How do I apply to the Real Estate Salesperson Program?

The steps to apply for the Real Estate Salesperson Program have recently changed, as the Program is now offered by multiple providers in Ontario. Here are the steps:

  • Research the available providers (here's a handy comparison):
  • Create a RECO Account and obtain your RECO ID on RECO's MyWeb Portal. As part of this process you will select your education provider.
  • You will then be directed to that provider's website to create an account and apply for the program. Each provider has a non-refundable application fee ($75-125) and will require proof of a Canadian or US secondary school diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), Canadian Adult Education Certificate (CAEC) or an acceptable equivalent credential. Applications are typically processed within one week. You must have strong English writing, comprehension and speaking skills, as the program and support services are delivered in English. You must apply using your full legal name, as required by RECO for registration.

If you do not have a high school diploma or equivalent, you will need to successfully complete an admissions exam

Once accepted into the program, you can typically start Course 1 as soon as the next business day (see Transition Note below). Upon starting Course 1, you have two years to complete the Real Estate Salesperson Program. The Passit Power Plan provides a study plan to help you complete Course 1 in approximately three weeks. Each course varies in length. Many learners report completing the program in under six months with the help of Passit.

Transition Note: As of July 1st, 2025 Humber is no longer accepting applications for the current program. Humber applications submitted between now and September 30th will start the updated curriculum on or after October 1st, 2025. The updated Real Estate Salesperson Program is now also offered by Algonquin College, Fleming College and Career College Group. Applicants to those providers could start the updated program in July 2025.
