Humber College

Background:
Humber has been the sole provider of RECO-approved real estate education (in partnership with NIIT) in Ontario since 2019. If you’re currently enrolled, you can continue under the REBBA program until September 30, 2025. After that, any unfinished courses will require a transfer into the new TRESA-based program, which starts on October 1st for Humber College learners.

Things To Know:

  • Most experienced in this space
  • Established procedures, instructors and student support
  • Familiar platform for current students
  • Support options include phone, chat (account admin only) and email
  • Some students have complained about course content, support channels (content-related and technical assistance) and exam proctoring. Note: Course content is RECO’s responsibility and has been updated. Exams will be proctored by a new independent provider (Meazure Learning). So, some of these issues may have been eliminated or, at the very least, improved. Humber learners report positive experiences with Simulation Session facilitators.

Best For:
Existing Humber learners, learners who prefer independent study and a familiar interface and those in the GTA who prefer in-person Simulation sessions (available at Humber College in Etobicoke).

Algonquin College

What Stands Out So Far:
No major program differences identified yet, but Algonquin has a well-organized portal, detailed FAQs and multiple support channels available at launch — an encouraging sign of a well-structured platform and reliable student support.

Things To Know:

  • Clean, accessible interface
  • Current contact options include email and phone (8:30am – 4:30pm weekdays)
  • No distinct features (yet) to set it apart from other providers
  • This program is new to Algonquin College’s Corporate Training department, so reviews reflect other current programs in that department

Best For:
Students who want a fresh experience with good support and plan to direct their own learning pace and those in the Ottawa area who prefer in-person Simulation sessions (locations and availability have not been announced).

Fleming College

Unique Value:
Fleming adds rural real estate topics to the Simulation components of its program—something not offered by other colleges.

Things to Know:

  • Same program structure as others, with added rural/cottage context
  • Slightly lower application fee ($75 vs $125)
  • Contact options currently limited to e-mail only, but expected to expand
  • This program is new to Fleming College, so reviews are based on the entire college experience

Best For:
Learners aiming to work in small towns, rural Ontario or cottage country. Those in the Peterborough area who prefer in-person Simulation sessions (locations and availability have not been announced).

Career College Group

Unique Value:
This provider offers a structured cohort model, meaning you start with a group of learners on a set start date and move through the program together.

Things to Know:

  • Self-directed learning complemented by bi-weekly or weekly live, online instructor-led sessions (for all other providers these are optional)
  • Entire salesperson program runs for 40–50 weeks, depending on the schedule selected
  • Suitable for learners who want routine and enjoy learning via Zoom-type sessions
  • Current contact options include phone, chat and email
  • Higher minimum base cost (~$645+ more due to mandatory instructor sessions)
  • Less flexibility—may not suit learners who want to move faster (or slower)
  • Will introduce scheduling and pace issues, especially if some learners fall out of sync due to vacations, illness, exam re-writes, etc.
  • This program is new to Career College Group, so reviews are based on other program offerings.

Best For:
Students who require structure, routine and instructor interaction.

Key Takeaways

  • All four providers offer the same TRESA-aligned core RECO curriculum
  • Exam registration is standardized through Meazure Learning for all providers
  • Fees per course and exam are the same, with minor differences in application fees and Career College Group requiring mandatory facilitated review sessions (these are not mandatory through other providers)
  • The biggest differences come down to learning style, structure and extras
