Humber Real Estate Education Transition Plan — Key Dates and How to Avoid Mid-Program Setbacks

Important news for current and future Ontario real estate students—Humber Polytechnic has just released the transition plan for its Real Estate Education Programs. This outlines what’s changing, when it’s happening and what it means, whether you’re already in the program or considering enrolling soon.

The Countdown is On — September 30, 2025 is the Ideal Finish Line

If you’re currently enrolled in the Humber Real Estate Education Program, you now have an official timeline: aim to complete as much of the current program as possible by September 30, 2025. This includes both the courses and their associated exams. After that, the program shuts down. Any remaining learners will transfer into Humber’s new real estate education program.

To avoid repeating any work, it’s strongly recommended that you complete any in-progress courses and pass the related exams before the transition. Incomplete components will likely need to be restarted under the new program. The ideal plan is to finish everything by the September deadline.

Key Dates

Deadline
Last day to enroll in the current Real Estate Education ProgramJune 30, 2025
Last day to enroll in Broker CoursesAug 30, 2025
Last day to enroll in Courses 2-4Sep 1, 2025
Last day to register for an examSep 16, 2025
Last day to take an examSep 21, 2025
Last day to enroll in Course 5 & Post-Registration Courses Sep 23, 2025
Program endsSep 30, 2025

The takeaway? Plan now. Especially if you’re in the middle of the program, try to finish each course and its exam before the September deadlines.

Keep in mind that Simulation sessions may fill up fast. If you’re in Course 3 or 4, aim to finish the course, write the exam and book the Simulation session as early as possible. Also, remember that Course 5 has no exam, so once you’ve completed Simulation 2 (and its exam), register for and complete Course 5 right away—it’s the final step before RECO registration.

What If You Don’t Finish in Time?

If you don’t complete the program before the September 2025 deadline, you will be able to transfer into Humber’s new program. Humber will be providing a transition path, but expect some hiccups as the program will have substantial changes, including updated course contenta new exam provider and different registration processes.

About the New Real Estate Salesperson Program

While the new program’s launch date hasn’t been announced, we do know this:

  • The learning path stays the same.
  • Course content and exams will be updated to reflect TRESA, not REBBA.
  • Exam registration and delivery will be different. Exams will be run by a RECO-approved assessment provider, not Humber.
  • Humber is one of four providers moving forward.

While some details are clear, many important questions remain:

  • Humber has not confirmed whether fees will change under the new program.
  • The new education providers have not yet released details about their course delivery options, fees, timelines or support systems.
  • It’s unclear when new students will be able to start in the new program.

You can still enroll in the current program until June 30, 2025. If you’re thinking of registering, starting now could be your best shot to avoid uncertainty.

Keep in mind that the typical minimum timeframe to complete the program is 4–6 months, meaning if enrolling in the next month or so, you will likely transition mid-program. Also, you’ll begin learning REBBA and then shift to TRESA in the fall, which may require unlearning and re-learning key concepts. The further you progress before September, the smoother that transition will be—especially since TRESA has a greater impact on the earlier courses in the program.

Already in the Humber Program? Here’s What to Do Now

  • Keep going! Don’t slow down. Finish at least your current course and its exam.
  • Track deadlines. Missing a key date could mean frustration and delays.
  • Watch for updates. Humber will be providing additional details; keep an eye on their Transition Page.

The Bottom Line

If you’re already enrolled, stay focused and aim to complete the program before September 30, 2025.

If you’re thinking about enrollingJune 30, 2025 is the deadline to register under the current program.

While the move to multiple providers brings more choice and flexibility long-term, transitions like this often come with growing pains (just ask anyone who experienced the 2019 launch of the Humber program). If you want stability, predictability and a clear roadmap—now’s the time to act.

No matter where you are in your real estate journey, Passit is here to help you stay focused, stay informed and succeed—every step of the way.
